Services

PMC Foundations offers a range of services, building support structures for all types of projects on all types of sites, from single story buildings to high rise structures on rock or soft soil.

Our involvement begins in the planning stage, advising in the cost and feasibility of a project through to the final stage of project completion ensuring satisfaction without exception.

Our service package ensures clients are taken through the early concept stages of decision making through to the end result. Our services include:

We also offer several other services other than underpinning which are often involved in many of our projects such as:

Traditional Underpinning

This method is suitable for all types of buildings and is the more preferred method, as a simple support structure is created underneath the foundations enabling stability. This involves the removal of earth and replacing it with poured concrete carried out in 1 metre sections commonly known as underpins.

Base & Beam

This is used regularly as it has proven to be more cost effective, requiring less earth being excavated and less mass concrete poured. Fewer blocks are inserted than the traditional method as a beam is installed above the blocks creating further support. It can be used on most buildings although it may depend on the type of ground requiring work.

Anchor Blocks

This requires the excavation of earth 3 to 4 metres away from the cracked wall and installing concrete in the form of anchor blocks. Raking shores are then fixed to support the cracked wall.

Piled Rafts

This is used where ground is made (filled in with imported earth) or where ground is inadequate for traditional foundations. Piles are driven through the made ground to the original solid earth. A reinforced concrete slab otherwise known as a raft is installed throughout the whole floor area of the building and under all low bearing walls , therefore supporting the entire structure.

Trench Sheeting

Trench sheets are purpose made steel that come in lengths of 1-5 or 6 metres as necessary and can be braced with steel or timber props to keep earth banks apart. This method is used to support loose ground and act as earth work support for health and safety purposes.
